The WEB Smart Edge Engine has 24 or 48 fixed auto negotiating ports for 10/100Mbps Ethernet. Two further copper ports provide connection for any speed Ethernet including 1000BASE-T Gigabit.

Further expansion is available through a pair of mini-GBIC slots allowing additional Gigabit ports to be added. The WEB smart switch replaces the traditional console port with a WEB interface. Individual port settings including operating mode, flow control, QoS queue assignment & VLAN membership can be configured while comprehensive statistical information can be obtained. A simple to use software utility facilitates changing the default IP address and receiving trap messages generated by the switch.

The copper gigabit ports can be combined as a trunk for faster inter-switch connectivity. Analysis of network problems is facilitated by a flexible port mirroring facility.
